At Beyond the Cage, we believe in the power of positive role models to help young men find belonging, resilience, and purpose. This month we sat down with our Ambassador, Robbie Wells - Chartered Physiotherapist, Taekwon-Do World Champion, and former gymnast - to talk about why movement is such a powerful force for transformation and how the new 7-Day Physical Commitment Challenge inside Take Action Daily is inspiring young men to take action.
Robbie, why do you believe movement is such an important starting point for young men?
“Movement is a universal language. That’s partly why I love martial arts and gymnastics because you can train with people from across the world through demonstration and action. For young men especially, movement is often the first place we experience discipline, growth, and identity. You can’t fake consistency when it comes to showing up physically. It forces you to be present, to commit, and to learn from countless repetition and practice.”
Take Action Daily is built on daily accountability and reflection. How does that connect to your approach?
“What I love about Take Action Daily is its simplicity: one theme, one quote, one question, every day. You reflect, you move, you share it. It’s not about perfection, it’s about consistency. That’s exactly what transformation is built on. When you connect a physical commitment with a reflective question, you’re not just improving physically but you build greater self-awareness and meaning. And when you share that journey in a community of men who genuinely want the best for you, that’s where real change happens.”
Tell us about the 7-Day Physical Commitment Challenge. Why seven days?
“Seven days is long enough to prove to yourself that you can change, but short enough to commit without feeling overwhelmed. In just a week, you can experience how much stronger, sharper, and more confident you feel when you move with intent. The challenge provides daily coaching and accountability so you’re never doing it alone. It’s an entry point into coaching, but more than that, it’s an entry point into finding a passion for physical exercise.”
What do you hope young men will take away from this challenge?
“My hope is that they realise all they need to do is start. It’s not about being ready or waiting for the right time - it takes a single decision, followed by small consistent actions. Seven days is enough to feel that spark of momentum. Once you’ve felt it, you’ll want to keep going. The challenge isn’t just about building physical strength, it’s about proving to yourself that you can take action, stay accountable, and belong to a community that celebrates your commitment.”
How does this connect back to the bigger vision of Beyond the Cage and Take Action Daily?
“Both Beyond the Cage and Take Action Daily exist to help men discover who they can become when they’re surrounded by support and role models. Movement is the anchor, but the real transformation comes from belonging, resilience, and purpose. The 7-Day Challenge is just the first step - a spark that shows young men they’re capable of so much more when they commit, reflect, and do it together.”

The 7-Day Physical Commitment Challenge is now available exclusively inside the Take Action Daily community. Guided by Robbie Wells, it’s an opportunity for young men to take their first step into lasting transformation - through movement, accountability, and the power of doing it together.

Embracing Fear
